Across the Sea

WELCOME!

Welcome to Across the Sea, traveler! I am Mae Portguard and I will tell you what I know about the Redwall Abbey and the surrounding lands, as best as I know at least. Hmmm ... let me see here ... where is that darned Redwall Encyclopedia? Oh, yeah, forgetful me! Here it is in my basket! Ok, now where is that map I found? I am such a scatter brain! I'll just have to find it later. Oh, wait! Don't go! Let me tell you what I know about that facinating place .... Thank you. Have a seat and we'll chat a while.

About Redwall

Redwall is a wonderful place where woodland creatures can come and get shelter, rest, and good food. There are many animals to frequent it, including a few that behave as though it were a tavern and inn! Aside from a few rude beasts, there is no shortage of good beasts who will gladly lend a helping paw.

There are, of course, ne'er-do-wells who think they can take over this lovely abbey full of peaceful beasts, but they are soon disappointed. Most are pirates, brigands, corsairs, and bandits. Other enemies of the wood land creatures include most predators with a few exceptions.

A little side note

I, my self am not from Mossflower or anywhere on that island for that matter. I am from a land called Hypernia. I love those wonderful tales brought to me by travelers. My brother Roger Sea Rat has brought me most of them and I treasure his accounts most dearly. He says that though he's never actually been to that island, he has gathered his information from the most reliable sources he can find. There are other stories, perhaps legends, that have been passed down our family line. Our Great Grandfather, Captain Silent Jack, had some amazing tales he wrote in his journal - my brother later verified them by bringing me several manuscripts and copies of tales from across the sea.
